SA’s African Christian Democratic Party pays tribute to Tsvangirai

The African Christian Democratic Party (ACDP) has extended its sincere condolences to the friends and family of former Zimbabwean prime minister and leader of the main opposition, Movement for Democratic Change, Morgan Tsvangirai.

Tsvangirai died in a Johannesburg hospital on Wednesday night after a battle with colon cancer. He was 65 and had been receiving treatment for 18 months.

ACDP Leader Rev Kenneth Meshoe said in a Thursday press release: “We have learned with sadness of the passing of Mr Morgan Tsvangirai. He gained the respect of many leaders across the globe when he committedly fought for the betterment of the Zimbabwean people. He will be remembered for his long and unwavering political battle against former Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe.

“We express our sincere condolences to his family, friends and colleagues, and we pray that they experience the comfort of God’s healing at this difficult time.”
