President Jacob Zuma is travelling to Abidjan in the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire on Tuesday to attend the Fifth Summit of the African Union-European Union.
In a short statement the Presidency said the summit was scheduled to take place from Wednesday to Thursday.
“The Summit will be held under the theme: ‘Harnessing the Demographic Dividend through Investments in Youth’. The Summit is anticipated to focus on the importance of the youth in the two regions’ socio-economic development programmes,” said the statement.
Meanwhile, the South African International Relations and Cooperation Minister Maite Nkoana-Mashabane on Tuesday represented President Zuma at the inauguration ceremony of the President-elect of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta.
The ceremony took place just before noon at the Kasarani National Stadium in Nairobi, Kenya.
